 On Monday the 4 of October around 4:20 pm the messaging app WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram all went down and stopped functioning 

They are already working to get it back to normal, currently majority of people are on twitter voicing their disappointment.

Indian teenager with thy longest hair cuts her hair

 

Since 2018, Nilanshi Patel, from Modasa, Gujarat, India, has held the Guinness World Records title for the longest hair on a teenager. 

At the time, she was 16 years old, and her hair measured 170.5 cm (5 ft 7 in).

Last July, just before her 18th birthday, Nilanshi’s hair was measured for the last time and reached an incredible 200cm (6ft 6.7 inches), securing her the iconic title for the longest hair ever on a teenager as well.

She decided to stop cutting her hair at six years after a bad experience and she has sticked to it till after 12years.

Nilanshi was blindfolded before the cut but she also kissed her hair goodbye. 

Nilanshi donated her hair to Ripley's.

Once it has been shipped from India to the USA it will be on display at Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Hollywood before then being displayed at Guinness World Records Museum, also in Hollywood. 

President Buhari reacts on the Imo police headquarters attack.

 Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari says Monday’s deadly attack on the Police Command Headquarters and the Correctional Facility in Owerri, the Imo State capital was an act of terrorism.

The Nigerian leader’s reaction was conveyed in a statement by his media aide Garba Shehu.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the deadly insurgent attack that took place on the Police Command Headquarters and the Correctional Facility in Owerri, Imo State, on Monday, calling it an act of terrorism,” the statement read.

“In his reaction to the incident early on Monday, President Buhari praised the initial response by security guards and security forces for preventing greater loss of life and the destruction of public property.

He also urged the people to assist the law enforcement agencies with any information to help. 

“He also urged members of the public to be vigilant as all of us have a stake in preserving our way of life from disruption by terrorists and anarchists while the Federal Government will use every available tool at its disposal to confront and terminate this bare-faced anarchy.”

President Putin signs law that allow him remain in seat till 2036

 Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law that will allow him to run for two more terms once his current one ends in 2024.

As reported by The Guardian, the law could potentially allow Putin, 68, to remain in office until 2036. He has been the de facto political leader of Russia since 2000.

The Guardian notes that should Putin stay in power until 2036, he would be the longest running leader of Russia since the Russian Empire, surpassing the tenure of dictator Joseph Stalin, who remained in power over the Soviet Union for 29 years.

Putin would be 84 years old when he left office should he decide to run for the two additional terms he is now allowed.

Putin is currently on his fourth term as president of Russia, being elected to office in 2000, 2004, 2012 and 2018, with a stint as Russian prime minister between 2008 and 2012 due to term limits at the time.

The law limits Russian citizens to two terms as president in their lifetime, though the legislation essentially serves as "reset" and does not apply to Putin's four previous terms.

The Guardian reports that signing this legislation may not be an indication of the Russian leader's desire to stay in power and may instead be a move to avoid a lame-duck presidency and a power struggle in his last term in office.

The new law also provides Putin and former President Dmitry Medvedev with lifetime immunity from prosecution.
