Nigeria banns EU flights.

 Nigeria will enforce the principle of reciprocity in granting permission to airlines to resume operations into the country as it opens its airspace, the Federal Government said on Thursday.

According to the government, what this means is that only airlines from countries that allow flights from Nigeria will be allowed to fly into and out of Nigeria.

It specifically stated that airlines from the European Union would not be allowed into Nigeria as the EU had recently banned flights and visitors from Nigeria.

On July 2, 2020, The PUNCH reported that the Council of the European Union had opened its borders to 15 countries, excluding Nigeria.

I am 25 and i have 1million something, what should I do?

 Good evening 

Please i need an advice on the next step i should take in life. I am a guy, 25 years of age and still living with my parents, though i am not jobless but recently my bank account just hit one million and 200 thousand naira.

So my parents are advising to buy a landed property in my home town that will take about 900 to 1 million naira. But the thing is that i am 25 and i feel at my age i should no longer be staying with my parents, so i want to rent a flat and furniture it to my taste, i feel it is time to move on, i need my freedom to finally face life like a man.

So my question is, should i purchase a landed property at 25 and continue living with my parents or pack out and start my Adult life. Note: i am not jobless".

Mamman Daura

 Mamman Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, travelled to the UK on Wednesday “in good health”, family sources have told TheCable.

Though speculations has it that he was having breathing problems.

“It is true he travelled to the UK on Wednesday. Every other thing is imagined, just to give the story some sensation. He is in good health,” a family member, who declined to be named “because it is not necessary”, told TheCable.

Another family member said: “It is impossible that a man, who is over 80, would have breathing problems on Friday and the family would wait for five days before flying him abroad in an emergency. A man having breathing problems on Friday would not attend a public funeral on Tuesday.

Edo election targets a voilence free election.

 The Chairman, Information and Voters Education Committee, Independent Electoral Commission, Festus Okoye, has assured the people of Edo and Ondo states of INEC’s determination to conduct peaceful and credible elections noting that anything to the contrary would create a constitutional logjam crisis.

Okoye said “Political Parties and all the critical stakeholders in the electoral process must see the conduct of these elections as a national project that must be executed in strict compliance with all the safety protocols.

The Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Johnson Sinikiem, said the September 19 governorship election would be the first to be conducted under the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that it has become imperative for journalists to be conversant with the new realities and tgat they will work closely with security personnel to curb any act of voilence.

Prince Harry and Meghan £11.1 million mansion.

 Prince Harry and Meghan has moved into their 9 bedroom with 16 bathroom estate.  The luxurious mansion cost £11.1 has a theatre,  a pool , arcade and a garden. 

A source said they needed the big house because of their son Archie and also because they hardly move around. 

Any insult on the Nigerian leaders will be sanctioned- Zonal director NBC

 National Broadcasting commission has announced that any post that comes as an insult to the president,  Governor and Nigerian leaders will be sanctioned.... 

In a letter dated 3 August Chibuike Ogwumike the zonal director signed

The statement read; 

“Monitoring activities indicate that in the recent time, some broadcast stations have abdicated their editorial responsibilities such that guests and callers on programmes abuse and insult leaders and those in authority freely and without caution. 

“May I please draw your attention to the following provisions of the Broadcasting Code: Section 3.1.: Professional Rules: 3.1.1:  No broadcast shall encourage or incite to crime, lead to public disorder or hate, be repugnant to public feelings or contain an offensive reference to any person or organization, alive or dead or generally be disrespectful to human dignity.

“Also, 3.1.19: The broadcast shall not transmit content that denigrates the social norms, values and culture of the society. 

“To denigrate our elders and leaders in abusive terms is not our culture. We respect our leaders as a positive cultural value,” it added.

“We expect Broadcasters, especially anchors to show professionalism in the handling of programmes such that guest or callers that exhibit such tendency are professionally handled.

“The recourse to abusing, denigrating and insulting the President, Governors, MPs and other leaders does not show us as cultured people.”
